What people say about their stay at Lone Mound Ranch…
Where do I start?! Our ranch stay was everything we hoped for and more. We travel to New Mexico from DFW every summer with our 3 kids, and typically break the trip up with an overnight stay in Amarillo. Those with kids know that hotel stays with 3 young kids are NOT fun! We found Lana’s ranch and opted to stay there instead. It was AMAZING. Rather than having kids cooped up in a tiny hotel room, they were able to stretch their legs by running around the ranch, riding horses with Lana’s daughter, Chancie, and playing with the friendly ranch dog. Lana stocked our fridge with her fresh ground beef and eggs- truly the best we’ve ever had. We purchased extra to take to New Mexico, where our extended family agreed it made the best burgers they’ve ever had! The cabin was rustic, but exceptionally clean for being attached to a barn! Like other reviewers mentioned, if you’re looking for a bells and whistles luxury ranch stay, this isn’t it. This is the real deal- which is exactly what I wanted… however, the king bed upstairs WAS pretty luxurious! Ps- it’s worth waking up early to watch the sun rise while sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee. The view is amazing.. and made for some great pictures of the kids 🙂 Communication from Lana was outstanding. I can’t recommend this place enough!!! We will never stay at an Amarillo hotel again!

Wow!!!! What an amazing camping trip thanks to Lana and her awesome ranch. Truly, one of the best, if not the absolute best airbnb I’ve stayed at by far and to think that it was the most minimalistic and basic and simple as camping is. From the moment we arrived, which BTW was very easy to find following the host’s directions and searchable on google maps just type “Lone Mound Ranch”, we were greeted by many Cows and horses. The host is extremely accommodating, has camps setup throughout her property, but also allows you to setup camp anywhere you’d like. We got a chance to meet, Lana, who is extremely polite and nice and very hospitable. We also purchased some of the grass-fed beef which was really fresh and tasty and for an unbeatable price. We originally booked for one night, then added another one, then another one 🙂 it was honestly hard to leave such a tranquil and majestic place. We woke up surrounded by a herd of friendly cows, got to pet a giant and beautiful horse named Hunk, and watched some amazing sunrises and sunsets along with magnificent view of the stars. Being from chaotic NYC, I really appreciated all the nature available and the opportunity to enjoy the peacefulness of such a hugeeeee property acres after acres of open land. Made me realize my love of nature and the outdoors. I recommend this place 100%. Host was always available if we needed her but very unintrusive and respectful of privacy, we felt like we had the whole ranch to ourselves most of time. Thank you so much, Lana!! We will definitely be back 🙂
